Commitment to our communities is a vital part of Select Group’s corporate initiative.

As a corporate citizen, Select Group participates in various programs that seek to provide opportunities for civic, economic, and social health. Participation takes various forms and includes initiative such as gifts, grants, sponsorships, in-kind donations, and volunteerism.

Select Group recognizes the importance of contributing to the society, therefore Corporate Social Responsibility has always and will continue to be part of the way in which we do business. We recognize our wider responsibilities to a broad range of stakeholders; including customers, employees, business partners and community groups.
Kreta Ayer Senior Activity Centre

Since 1997, Select Group has played an active role in 3 Kreta Ayer Senior Activity Centres, providing daily meals to close to 100 needy elderly and those on Public Assistance Scheme. The menu includes a wide spread of nutritional and quality food that comprises of 1 meat, 1 vegetable, 1 side and rice which varies on a monthly basis. Over the years, Select Group has provided 336,000 packet of lunch to the senior citizens of the Kreta Ayer Senior Activity Centres.

Kreta Ayer - Kim Seng Citizen's Consultative Committee Mass Reunion Dinner (2008-2016)

For 9 years, Select Group has collaborated with Kreta Ayer – Kim Seng Citizen's Consultative Committee to sponsor a mass reunion dinner for about 1,000 under privileged residents of Kim Seng residence. These residents include families across all communities. Guests were treated to a sumptuous 8-course meal, a night of performances and an Hong Bao was given to them. Select's staff contributed an impressive number of hours on the event as well.

Club Rainbow (Singapore)

Annually, Select Group sponsors Camp Rainbow; a medically supervised, stay-in adventure camp for chronically and terminally ill children between 5 and 15 years old, organized by Club Rainbow (Singapore). The group has been providing packet lunch for more than 200 camp participants and volunteers, for their annual event.

Assisi Hospice

Since 2005, Select Group has started sponsoring a Laksa booth to Assisi Hospice annual fund raising event Charity Fun Day. This year, we are proud to serve 500 bowls of Laksa at the event. Select Group, together with many other sponsors, has helped to raise over $800,000 for the hospice to expand its core services of in-patient care, home care and day care.

Community Kitchen

Select Group has been largely involved in the planning and funding for Community Kitchen, a social enterprise launched in 2006. This social enterprise, located in Bukit Panjang, provides training and employment opportunities to needy jobseekers. Food prepared daily by these workers is sold at 2 kiosks and the income is used for their salary. The food sold is also an initiative to provide affordable food to the residents in the area.

Corn Ware Utensils

The use of cornware utensils was first initiated by the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) committee during YOG 2010. Cornware utensils are biodegradable, require significantly lesser fossil resources and generate fewer greenhouse gases. Since then, Select Group has continued with this initiative and is gradually phasing out the usage of plastic ware.

Thermal Bags

Select Group has increased its usage of thermal bags for food transportation. Thermal bags are bio-friendly, can be reused and are able to keep the food warm at the same time.

Soaking Basin

Select Group uses a soaking basin to clean our equipment and utensils in water and soap, minimizing the use of chemicals.

Recycled materials

All used oil is collected and sold to a supplier once a week who will use it for recycling purposes. Used carton boxes, metal tin cans and plastic containers are also sold twice a week for recycling instead of being thrown away.

Food wastage minimized

Select Group has a system in place to ensure that the required amount of food is prepared and there is no food wastage.

Yellow Ribbon Project

The Yellow Ribbon Project seeks to engage the community in giving ex-offenders a second chance in life, and hopes to inspire a ripple effect of concerted community action to support ex-offenders and their families.

The Management of Select Group believes that everyone deserves a second chance; therefore we have been actively supporting the project, by re-employing ex-offenders to work with us.
Lerk Thai

In bid to encourage eating healthily, Lerk Thai has several promotions for its customers, such as a plate of vegetables for only $1 with every order of whole fish dishes and 50% off vegetables with every order of Tom Yum Seafood Clear Soup.


Several dishes by Lerk Thai are also prepared to be more nutritious and healthy. For example, the Tom Yam Seafood Soup and Pineapple Rice uses fresh ingredients, herbs and spices, making them healthier dishes for consumption.

Select and Stamford Catering

All food prepared by Select Catering and Stamford Catering's staff of professionally trained chefs is strictly complied according to health and safety standards. A healthier choice menu, planned accordingly with the Health Promotion Board (HPB), is also offered to customers who would like a healthier option. Customized menus and personalized planning services according to the clients' needs with the help of nutritionists are also available.


Strict hygiene and quality checks are conducted by our hygiene officers to ensure that the food we provide is clean and safe for consumption.

SG50 Campaign


Select and Stamford Catering gave back to a group of unsung heros during Singapore’s jubilee birthday. Select and Stamford Catering gave out 2000 packets of chicken rice to foreign workers to appreciate their contribution towards nation building.

Freeness in Abundance Chinese New Year Celebration 2015

Select and Stamford Catering together with her customers opened their houses to a group of underprivileged senior citizen to bring the joy of Chinese New Year to them.

A Koala Visit to the Zoo CSR 2015

Select Group together with Care Corner and Tung Ling Student Care organized an educational trip to the Singapore Zoo to visits the many animals with the highlight being the newly added Koala bears.

Voyage to the Depth of the S.E.A

Select Group organized a trip to S.E.A Aquarium for the students at CareHut on 15 June 2013 - An enriching and joyful event for both Select Staff and the students, having the chance to come face to face with over 800 species of marine animals.

A Walk to Remember

Together with Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), Select Group organized a half day tour at Gardens by the Bay, a fun occasion for both Select Staff and children from DAS.

Singapore Food Trail - Calligraphy

Singapore Food Trail organized a Calligraphy Event during the Chinese New Year festive season to raise funds for The Children's Charities Association of Singapore.

Lerk Thai - Mother's Day Luncheon

Mother's Day was made special for a group of Singapore mothers and their children from HELP – Family Service Centre as Lerk Thai Restaurant hosted these group of single mothers for a pleasant lunch.

Singapore Food Trail - "Show Your Support For Japan"

On 12 April 2011, Singapore Food Trail participated in a fund-raising drive, "Show Your Support For Japan", in collaboration with Singapore Red Cross, for the Tsunami victims in Japan. All sales proceeds on that day, a total of $13,000, were donated to Japan Disaster 2011 Relief Fund to help the victims.

Peach Garden - Singapore Pools

Peach Garden sponsored the Singapore Pools Charity Event on 21 April 2011, a night of fashion, food and good cause. This was a fund-raising event organized by Singapore Pools for the underprivileged. Guests enjoyed a 6-course dinner which included a 3 headed abalone and a dessert buffet. They were also treated to a Fashion Show by Avana Boutique, which showcased their latest fashion. Other highlights include bidding for newly introduced massage chairs sponsored by OSIM, where all proceeds went to the funds raised.

Lerk Thai - Hearts of Gold @ North West Campaign

Collaborating with North West Community Development Council (CDC) on a Hearts of God @ North West Campaign, Lerk Thai donated $1 to the North West District's Food Ration Program for every plate of pineapple rice sold during the campaign period from 1 May to 31 July 2008. North West CDC also matched this donation dollar for dollar to raise the combined target amount of $30,000 at the end of the campaign.
